3D printing on Mars

Design has a quintessential role in conceiving innovative solutions for humanity's greatest challenges. As our species seek to become an interplanetary species, designers and engineers must envision unconventional approaches, ideas, and solutions for humans to thrive in extreme environments. Computational Design Lead, Jonathan Irawan will share his latest involvement in NASA's 3D Printing Centennial Challenge - designing a permanent habitat on Mars. He will present the project's crucial design challenges in sustaining life on Mars, and their associated structural and construction approaches for various elements within the design scheme.
